Suicide prevention and pubs.

It's not an obvious link to most.

But if you give it a moment ... you may just get it.

Most people go to a pub to drink alcohol, socialise, enjoy a good meal and maybe have a gamble on the poker machines.

​But there is a dark side to pubs - when people use it to escape the world and not address their personal issues.
When that happens, depression can sink in. Depression can spiral into suicidal thoughts.

And, if unchecked, suicidal thoughts can lead to death.

The Pub Whisperer is a creation of a lived-experience survivor. Jonathan Hart suffered multiple psychoses, suicide ideation and mental hospital admissions between 2008 and 2021 before being discharged from the medical system as no longer having a mental illness and no longer requiring medication in 2024.

​It's a comeback story and 1/2 and he hopes that anyone reading this, or who knows someone, suffering with a mental illness or suicide ideation, that their comeback is possible too, with the right help, seeking answers to how they got themselves in a space of unwellness in the first place.
